MEP consultancy to support the office sector
At DSSR, we have a strong track record in the commercial office sector over many years throughout the UK, including new build office developments (both speculative and bespoke) together with office fit-out projects. Over the last 3 years, at DSSR we have provided building services and sustainability consultancy to support office fit-out schemes, ranging in size from 10,000 f² to 300,000 f² commissions.
At DSSR, we have been working closely with many office owners and occupiers over recent times to assist with their decarbonisation plans and the development of innovative strategies to replace/upgrade the MEPH systems.
03 / Prioritising Wellbeing
Designing Habitable Spaces
As building services specialists, we believe that the safe, reliable operation of MEP systems is of critical importance to the functionality of any office space. MEP systems provide the vital necessities which make spaces functional, but the internal environment they shape contributes significantly to the health and well-being of the people who spend a large portion of their days in these spaces.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought workplace conditions into sharp relief—from the quality of the air we breathe to the thermal comfort of a space. What we are seeing in response to this is an increased awareness of how a space may affect personal health, which has in turn prompted a general shift from the aesthetic qualities of a space towards how a space supports health and well-being.
The good news for employers faced with investing in higher-quality workspaces is that when these are well-designed, they have been shown to enhance performance. A truly considered approach to designing habitable spaces can deliver measurable benefits through an innovative approach to MEP systems. Beyond designing efficient MEP systems, DSSR can offer a more advanced, holistic look at how to optimise an office space to increase comfort, well-being and productivity.
