Overview of the Watford Riverwell Multi-Storey Car Park project
DSSR was delighted to be part of the design team that delivered Watford General Hospital’s award-winning, sustainable multi-storey car park (MSCP).
The striking new facility is fully powered by 1,248 PV panels on the roof and provides 1,455 spaces over seven floors—including 138 EV points and further capacity within the infrastructure to add more EV charging where necessary.
The Watford MSCP also benefits from a state-of-the-art HUBER LED lighting system, a highly sophisticated parking management system that utilises ANPR technology, a fire alarm system linked to the hospital and nearby stadium, and 24/7 CCTV monitoring—providing a user-friendly parking experience within a safe, secure environment.
From a shortlist of outstanding facilities that were completed in the last year, the Watford MSCP was selected as the winner of the Car Park Design category at the British Parking Awards 2022. This accolade recognises exceptional projects, with innovative designs, which are a result of a high degree of cooperation between the developer, designers and planning authority.
DSSR is proud to see the unique project recognised for the remarkable quality of the design, and the high level of collaboration required by all members of the design team to deliver the project.
