Overview of the Skegness CDC project
This new facility is equipped with advanced technologies, including CT and MRI scanners, echocardiograms, non-obstetric ultrasound, and dental X-ray services, significantly enhancing the local healthcare offering.
Rapid Construction and Sustainability
Designed and constructed in just under 16 months, the project was delivered on time and within budget, thanks to the use of modern methods of construction. These innovative techniques enabled the team to build the facility faster, safer, greener, and more cost-effectively compared to traditional methods. The result is a high-quality centre that not only meets the immediate needs of the local population but also sets a benchmark for efficiency and sustainability in healthcare construction.
Partnering for Better Healthcare
As a proud partner of the Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group, DSSR played a vital role in designing and implementing the building services for both the Skegness and Lincoln diagnostic centres. These new facilities will significantly ease the pressure on main hospitals by decentralising diagnostic services. The Skegness Centre includes cutting-edge LED lighting throughout, combined with a rooftop photovoltaic (PV) installation to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. Externally, the site features EV charging points, further enhancing its sustainability credentials.
Efficient and Effective Collaboration
While the project may not boast unique architectural features, its rapid completion from design to construction is a testament to effective collaboration and modern engineering practices. This achievement underscores the commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare environments efficiently, ultimately contributing to better patient outcomes and an improved healthcare experience for the community.
