02 / Overview

Overview of the ROF Bishopton project

DSSR provided the primary infrastructure (i.e. electrical, gas, water and telecoms) strategy for the redevelopment of the former Royal Ordnance Factory in Bishopton.

BAE Systems (site owners) appointed DSSR to support the preparation of a masterplan to allow land parcels to be sold to housebuilding developers, which in turn has led to the creation of the new Dargavel Village.

Situated near the vibrant Scottish city of Glasgow, Dargavel Village is an award-winning, multi-million-pound development being built on the former Royal Ordnance Factory site in Bishopton. It is one of the UK’s largest, privately-funded brownfield regeneration projects and is a key strategic objective for the Glasgow city region.

Our involvement in this unique project focused on the creation of a new utility infrastructure to serve proposed residential plots within the development area (i.e. the utility strategy was developed to support the project phasing and release of development plots).
