02 / Overview

Overview of the Kendal Custody Suite project

DSSR played a vital role in this project, providing mechanical, electrical, and public health engineering design services.

This included the design and installation of HVAC systems, electrical power and lighting systems, and public health systems.

The addition of a new dedicated 10 cell Custody Suite within an existing central courtyard with the existing Police Station is a significant development that required the expertise of experienced engineers. The new custody suite also includes ancillary accommodation, dedicated plantroom accommodation, and a secure van dock to ensure the safety and security of both staff and occupants.

To ensure that the new custody suite operates efficiently, our team of engineers used innovative and sustainable design solutions. These solutions included energy-efficient lighting, heating, and cooling systems, as well as the installation of energy-efficient equipment and appliances.

Throughout the project, we worked closely with the construction team to ensure that the mechanical, electrical, and public health systems were integrated seamlessly into the building’s design. The result is a custody suite that is safe, secure, and efficient, providing a comfortable and secure environment for staff and occupants.
