Overview of the Highland Spring project
DSSR was responsible for the full M&E Design of a new factory extension for the existing Highland Spring production and bottling facility located in Blackford, Perthshire.
At an impressive 58,125 ft², the new bottling hall extension was designed to accommodate a 72,000-litre bottling line with associated pallet storage, loading/marshalling area, staff offices, ancillary facilities, and a conveyor-line extension extending the length of the south elevation.
The extension was for a single-storey building, though high enough to accommodate the production lines and storage requirements (approximately 6.2m).
The extension also included a new circulation bridge that incorporates a lift and stairs and links the existing production spaces to the new first-floor staff accommodation.
Additional external works included the extension of the site access road, a new service yard, external plant space, additional parking spaces, soft landscaping, and a SUDS pond.
