The project involved the installation of a new laminar wall, as well as new supply and extract air handling units, to improve the air quality and ventilation within the range. DSSR also provided new acoustic wall protection and additional ballistic protection to enhance the safety and security of the facility.

Moreover, DSSR designed and installed a new control room equipped with advanced lighting features, including dimmable general LED white lights, infra-red night lights, red, amber and blue flashing beacons, and sound-reactive lights. To improve communication and coordination within the facility, a new PA system was also installed, while new security systems including access control and CCTV were implemented to ensure the highest level of security. Overall, DSSR’s comprehensive MEP design services and expertise in designing bespoke solutions contributed to the successful refurbishment of the Bedfordshire Police HQ Firing Range.
