02 / Overview

Overview of the Aloft Hotel project

DSSR was also responsible for the development of the site masterplan with respect to Utilities Infrastructure and sitewide services.

New 150 key ALOFT hotel was constructed as part of the Rowett North Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) development in the Dyce area of Aberdeen. This development involved Dynamic Thermal Simulation of all buildings on the site to predict diversified energy loads, allowing the Central Energy Centre footprint and plant sizes to be tailored to match anticipated loads.

As part of the BREEAM assessment process, DSSR worked closely with the design team to identify opportunities for improving the environmental performance of the building. This included reducing energy consumption, improving water efficiency, promoting sustainable materials and reducing waste. The BREEAM Excellent rating achieved by the Aloft Hotel is a testament to the commitment of all stakeholders to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
