The DK1 Pharma building includes ambient storage, cold storage, freezer storage, packing, receipt and dispatch, and associated ancillary and office accommodation. The DK2 Clinical Services building consists of a 900m2 controlled temperature warehouse, 500m2 refrigerated storage, frozen storage, distribution and processing, receipt and dispatch, and associated ancillary and office accommodation.

The development project also includes the construction of a secure site reception building. DSSR was appointed as building services consultants to provide mechanical and electrical engineering services for the project. Our team’s scope of work included the design of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, domestic water, above and below-ground drainage, electrical power, lighting, communications, and security systems. The project was completed on time and within budget, and it now serves as a flagship development for the client.

DSSR was appointed to provide a full detailed design from conception to completion of a project, which included negotiating and coordinating new incoming 11/22kv electrical supplies with the ESB, developing a new site HV distribution network and secondary power sources, and familiarising themselves with ROI standards and regulations. The project was designed to BIM Level 2 and included dual unified low voltage distribution systems for resilience against failures and to facilitate routine maintenance. DSSR also developed full site security systems, including perimeter intrusion detection, CCTV, access control, and alarm systems, with specialist input.
