This week, members of the DSSR Sustainability Team attended the All-Energy Conference, the UK’s largest low-carbon energy and renewables event, at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC). All-Energy is a vital date on the calendar for professionals driving the renewable and low-carbon energy transition, offering expertise, innovative technologies, and critical insights to shape a net-zero future.

For DSSR, the event was a strategic opportunity for us to:

  • Stay ahead of evolving regulations (e.g., Part L updates, net-zero compliance) and discover new methods of designing future-proof buildings such as the latest heat pumps, smart grids, and energy storage systems.
  • Engage with 270+ exhibitors from 14 countries, identifying technologies that can be integrated into client projects for improved efficiency and decarbonisation.
  • Connect with policymakers, developers, and investors actively seeking building services expertise to deliver sustainable infrastructure, retrofits, and energy-efficient designs.

Our team explored the latest challenges and opportunities in energy transition, attending seminars on heat decarbonisation, retrofitting, and cross-sector collaboration. The insights gained will directly inform DSSR’s design strategies and client solutions, ensuring we remain at the forefront of low-carbon building innovation.

Networking and Knowledge Sharing

Senior Sustainability Specialist, Rachel Mason, and Sustainability Assistant, Atheya Rajeev, highlighted the value of All-Energy’s global networking:

Rachel Mason:

“I’ve attended All-Energy for eight years, and this year’s focus on heat networks and affordable low-carbon heating was especially relevant for our work. The event is unmatched for building partnerships—whether with technology suppliers or developers needing MEP expertise to meet sustainability targets.”

Atheya Rajeev:

“The seminar on Scotland’s Heat Transition underscored how collaboration between designers, government, and private sectors is critical to achieving net-zero buildings. As my first All-Energy, it was inspiring to see how DSSR’s work aligns with these larger industry goals.”

With 600+ speakers and record-breaking attendance in 2024, All-Energy solidified its role as the hub for renewable energy innovation. DSSR’s participation underscores our commitment to delivering sustainable, compliant, and cost-effective building designs in a rapidly evolving sector. The team is already looking ahead and applying lessons from the conference to active projects and exploring partnerships with exhibitors to enhance DSSR’s service offerings.
