DSSR recently attended the careers evening for Nidderdale High School in Harrogate. Project Engineer, James MacLeod, attended the event on behalf of the company.
James MacLeod, a Project Engineer with DSSR Consulting Engineers, attended the careers evening at Nidderdale High School to discuss the engineering career path and provide guidance on the transition to KS5 and leaving high school.
James spoke to students about his own journey into engineering and the different career paths that are available. He also provided advice on how to choose the right post-education route and how to prepare for a successful career in engineering.
“Engineering is a challenging but rewarding career path,” said MacLeod. “It offers the opportunity to work on some of the most innovative and exciting projects in the world, and to make a real difference to people’s lives.”
MacLeod also encouraged students to consider the wide range of engineering disciplines that are available, from civil and structural engineering to mechanical and electrical engineering.
“If you’re interested in a career in engineering, it’s important to start thinking about your options early on,” said MacLeod. “There are a number of different routes into the profession, so it’s important to do your research and find the one that’s right for you.”
