02 / Overview

Overview of the South Rotunda project

Refurbishment and bespoke fit-out of historic ‘B’ Listed Scottish Water Pump House building to provide exceptional contemporary office accommodation for owner-occupiers Malin Marine.

Constructed in 1890, the South Rotunda, along with an identical building on the North side of the river, was built originally as an entrance to a vehicular and passenger tunnel under the river Clyde.

The nature and location of the building and the nature of the intervention has delivered a unique and spectacular facility.

The build included the addition of five new windows and five floors including two levels within the old dome.

The gallery at the dome is one of the most striking parts, as it brings you face-to-face with all the wrought iron on the upper level.

DSSR responsible for full M&E design, including Heating, Cooling, Ventilation Lighting, Domestic Water and Fire Safety.

DSSR carried out Thermal Modelling to demonstrate that Thermal Comfort will be maintained throughout the year.
